A Russian Woman And Her Rescued Giant Companion Enjoy Going Fishing Together

Bears, as we all know, love fish and frequently hunt them to fill their tummies. But have you ever seen a huge bear fishing beside a person in a boat? It may sound unbelievable, but this is a genuine tale that occurs in Russia.

Meet Veronika Dichka and Archie, her enormous animal friend! In their hometown of Novosibirsk, the pair likes going ‘fishing’ in a woodland lake. The two admire each other and treasure every time they spend together, just like other friends.

Veronika rescued Archie two years ago from a safari park that was about to close its doors. She keeps him as a pet because he can’t be put back into the wild. She devotes her time to looking for him, and the two grow close.

“We rescued him from the safari park, but he cannot be released into the wild since he has spent his whole life in captivity. He treats me like a part of his family; we eat together, [he] sleeps in my arms when he’s scared, and he shelters behind me,” Veronika said.

They are seen sitting in a rowing boat and fishing together on a lake in the photographs. Veronika waits with her fishing rods in hand for any fish to accept the bait, while Archie sits next to her and manages to resist the desire to go fishing. They exchange happy hugs at one point.
