This Cat With A Human-Like Face Is Going Viral, And We Can’t Get It Out Of Our Heads

You may recall our piece on amusing cat paintings from the Middle Ages, in which felines not only appear flat and scary, but also have some odd human-like characteristics. This coon cat from Maine appears to have stepped right out of one of these paintings.

Because of this, Valkyrie, a really cute and fluffy cat, has become the latest Internet star. The black cat’s face resembles a human face, which is unusual for a cat. People fell in love with Valkyrie after Tatiana Rastorgueva, the current owner of the young Maine Coon, posted a video and a few photos of her on Instagram.

It’s unclear what distinguishes her as a human cat; it might be her bone structure, round cheeks, a noticeable beard, or her bored-with-life expression. A cat with a human face, on the other hand, is not something you see every day.
