When A Gorgeous Two-Legged Dalmatian Dog Was Rescued From China’s Dog Meat Trade, Her Life Was Forever Changed

When they discovered her, it was evident that she had been severely abused, since she was missing her front legs, the tips of her ears, and a portion of her tail.

Emma was saved just in time and sent to a veterinary facility in Beijing, where she received the treatment she needed to recuperate.

Doctors discovered that the tiny girl had a deformity in her rear limb and that she was missing a few of fingers, indicating that she was headed for the slaughterhouse.

Apparently, dog meat traffickers think that removing the limbs of animals to be sold without anesthetic creates adrenaline. According to them, this ingredient softens the meat of the mistreated animal, resulting in a better product for consumers.

Little Emma was placed in a foster family, but she was returned to the clinic after two years, precisely in 2019.

As a result, the group of rescuers sought the assistance of Dalmatian Rescue, a non-profit organization based in South Florida, in order to provide Emma with a better life, as dog adoptions are more popular in the United States than in China.

Emma landed in the United States on April 20, 2020, only days before Covid-19 outlawed animal exports. Volunteers chose to post his story on social media while he was at the organization’s facilities in try to find him a home.

Misha Rackcliff Hunt, a 27-year-old lady, noticed Emma’s message online and immediately fell in love with her and wanted to assist her. So she decided to adopt the three-year-old puppy and bring her to her new home in Charleston, South Carolina.

According to Misha, who spoke to the Daily Mail,

We know his injuries were caused by people because of their nature. This appears to be typical practice when ‘rare’ races are dissected and tormented.’

Despite Emma’s challenges, Misha tries everything he can to help her feel better and allow her to have a regular life. However, she still suffers from numerous psychological issues as a result of the trauma and cruelty she endured so many times in that dreadful location.

Misha expressed herself as follows:

“Emma is terrified of anything that sounds like a chainsaw, such as hair dryers, vacuum cleaners, and lawn mowers.” She wailed every time she left the room when I initially brought her home. He was continually guarding his meals and toys. She even preserved odd bits of my clothing because she was afraid they might be taken off at one time.

Emma was wary of males, so Misha came up with the idea of employing a male therapist to help her alter her ways, and it succeeded.

Misha recounted the first time she spotted Emma on the internet, and how she knew she was the one just by gazing at her beautiful eyes. She didn’t care about the paperwork she had to do to bring Emma home; all she wanted to do was be her mother.

Misha expressed herself as follows:

“When I first saw her, I was afraid she’d be chilly or that others wouldn’t care about the trauma, but she jumped right into my arms. When we arrived home after a five-hour travel, it was as though she knew I was her person and that she would never abandon her.

Misha and Dalmatian Rescue teamed up to raise money for a customised wheeled cart to help him improve his quality of life.
