Shelter Posts Hilariously Honest Description Of ‘Crabby Old’ Rescue Cat
The naturally lovely and caring demeanor of a shelter cat is usually enough to get a family to accept him into their hearts and homes. However, when it came to this specific cat, who lacked such traits, Florida shelter workers were compelled to adopt a different approach.
One that is brutally honest.
“Are you seeking for a new companion to cuddle with that is affectionate and loving? This is most likely not the case. Willard is my name. Willard is a senior citizen. He’s a jerk, “In an online statement, Santa Rosa County Animal Services stated.
Willard came into the shelter as a stray in September of last year. Willard’s rescuers quickly realized that he operates on his own set of cranky rules.
“He enjoys being petted. But only on rare occasions. Rubs on the head? Allowable until they aren’t — at which point you’ll be severely chastised “the refugee wrote “Would you like to advise him where he should sleep? Willard chuckles at your folly. Willard owes no one anything. Or a lady.”
Willard’s description at the shelter, which is intended to find him a home, is full with unpleasant disclaimers. It nearly reads as a cautionary note.
“Willard, in essence, wants things done his way. Please let us present you to a cranky old ginger who may or may not ever show his gratitude, if you are willing to be owned by him “the refugee wrote “Willard, on the other hand, has the last say. Best of luck!”
Now, the shelter’s no-holds-barred strategy to finding Willard a home may appear unusual. But, in the end, it proved to be far more effective than they had anticipated.
The post went viral, reaching millions of individuals around the world. Among them was someone Willard was already familiar with: his previous owner.
She’d feared she’d lost him a year ago and would never see him again. Nonetheless, he was there.
Willard’s owner, Ashleigh, was overjoyed. She sent images to the shelter to establish that the grumpy cat she’d been missing for so long was the one she’d been looking for.
Willard’s behavior when Ashleigh arrived at the shelter to visit him proved that he was genuinely hers. Willard, it turns out, isn’t naturally grumpy after all – he’d just had his heart shattered. It was healed in an instant.
“[Ashleigh] was overjoyed and thrilled to see him again,” a spokesman for the shelter told The Dodo. “Willard’s face brightened up. He was more animated and fun than we’d ever seen him before.”
