Kangaroo Rescued From Frozen Lake Thanks Rescuer By Shaking Hands

A kangaroo was saved from the frigid waters of a lake in an Australian city thanks to the courage of two witnesses, and without expecting anything in return, the animal thanked them in the most unexpected way.

Mr. David Boyd’s heartbreaking rescue video reveals the effort that the two people put in to save the weary kangaroo.

At the same time that David was phoning Canberra government officials to report the injured animal, two bystanders decided to jump into the lake.

He chose to videotape the entire rescue since he was so taken aback by her reaction. You can see the two men cautiously approaching the kangaroo in the video.

The animal was terrified and shivering, but the two guys decided to approach slowly from opposite directions, arms spread. They then called to the kangaroo, inviting it to approach them, but the animal turned away and stood on the frozen Lake Burley Griffin, terrified.

When one of the men approached the kangaroo too closely and reached out to catch it, the animal pushed him away and kicked the water away. The second man approached with care and was able to assist in lifting him to a safe location on the boardwalk.

A third guy approached the marsupial and stood in front of him to calm him and assure him that he was safe.

Many witnesses observed the dramatic rescue unfold and were awestruck by the two rescuers’ bravery.

The finest part of the emotional scene is that the kangaroo appeared to reach out and squeeze one of his rescuers as a possible sign of gratitude.

David says in the video :

“Aw, he’s thanking you.”

Without a doubt, this was his way of thanking them for rescuing him from the freezing water, and David, along with the other witnesses, saw it all.

The kangaroo was in a state of shock, and it took him around 30 minutes to fully recover. After that, he calmed down and returned to his usual routine. David decided to post the dramatic rescue on social media, and within minutes, many users commended the two men’s bravery.

On Facebook, David wrote:

“This was my morning alone in Canberra, congrats to these individuals, the guy wearing the Soldier On Top is a veteran Navy Diver, good news, the kangaroo is alright,” says the narrator.

Although these gestures are good, approaching an injured or scared kangaroo can be risky since they will react defensively.
