Adorable Puppy Gives Woman The Sweetest Hug When He Realizes He’s Finally Being Rescued

A little dog named Chowder believed he had discovered refuge in the form of a garage in an abandoned structure that had been converted into a garbage dump in the middle of a rainy day.

The small animal was discovered by a local couple as it sought protection from the rain by crawling under a mattress. When the husband walked outside to put out the trash, he discovered the puppy seeking refuge from the elements.

According to Donna Lochmann, a rescuer with Stray Rescue of St. Louis,

When the husband stepped outside, he saw the white dog hiding under the mattress’ corner and offered him some food and drink.

“He raced in my direction as soon as we got out of the car. He was the most amiable little man. He had no fear of us or anything similar. I believe he was overjoyed to get some kindness.

Chowder was overjoyed when the lady wrapped a leash around the boy’s neck, scooping him up in his arms to get him into the car while the youngster joyfully clung to her.

A rescuer reports:

“He approached her, sat on her lap, and just hugged close to her. He merely buried her face in her arm while resting his head on her shoulder. He was really appreciative that he was friendly and that others treated him well.

The adorable dog held his savior carefully during the whole journey to the shelter, appearing to comprehend that she was now secure. The young boy’s active and inquisitive nature already developed in the shelter. When he saw people, he was really thrilled, and if they came up to him carrying toys, he was much happier.

Now that Chowder is in foster care, he is learning how to live inside and get along with people. Now all he needs to do is heal from his wounds and locate a permanent place to live.
