10-Year-Old Boy Raises Money To Provide Vests For K9 Dogs

A little child who donates money to support police dogs has gained fame for his selfless act and natural affinity for animal protection. Brady Snakovsky, a 10-year-old boy, became aware that police canines, or K9s, do not given the protection they need to perform their duties.

Two years ago, he and his family were watching a police procedural on television when he saw that K9 canines weren’t given the same level of protection as their human partners. The child decided to take action after observing that the canines were not even provided with a ballistic jacket for protection.

Brady’s mother, Leah Tornabene, said on CNN:

“I failed to notice the dog’s lack of a vest when we were watching the performance. I was taken aback that an eight-year-old could see that there was a problem and would want to figure out how to repair it. I was really proud of him when I saw him accomplish this.”

A non-profit organization called Brady’s K9 Fund was established with the aim of raising money to assist police dogs that are put in danger as a result of this discovery that generated so much interest and, in turn, a strong desire to aid these dogs.

The organization’s main goal is to provide the canines with bulletproof vests by purchasing them using funds received through GoFundMe. Brady was able to buy the first four vests when he established this endowment fund, which he then donated for usage.

More than 257 police canines that were in desperate need of this kind of protection have now received vests thanks to the child. More than 23 North American states and Canada have received donations; vests have even been provided for military canines in Afghanistan.
